Review: Eclectic Fizz Champagne Bar, Aberdeen

Last night we decided to visit the recently opened ChampaWP_20150117_21_22_53_Progne Bar – Eclectic Fizz.  Wow is my first impression!  Aberdeen has severely lacked this style of venue.

Upon entering we were greeted at the bar with the Champagne menu.  Offering over 30 champagnes from non-vintage to the more extravagant bottles.  We settled on a bottle of the Lanson White Label, priced at a reasonable £55.  The bottle was served beautifully chilled including a selection of fruit.

The drinks menu also includes premium wines and extensive cocktail menu – all very appealing!

WP_20150117_21_18_57_ProThe setting of Eclectic Fizz is very modern over two floors with plentiful seating areas giving the bar a very open and relaxed setting allowing you to enjoy your bubbles and company.

Eclectic Fizz also offer a food menu, which I will most definitely be back to try.

SWP_20150117_21_18_22_Prouch a welcome addition to Aberdeen I wish the owners every success and I look forward to making Eclectic Fizz a regular visit when out in Aberdeen.

Eclectic Fizz is located at 150 Union Street, Aberdeen. AB10 1QX.

Go Volunteer!!

Is 2015 the year that we are all going to support a good cause?  I am a believer in good karma!

Fundraising is easier for a cause that you care about, want to improve/help make better and get that general good feeling doing something worthwhile.

Over the past 3 years I have contributed to raising over £100,000 for charities and good causes through various events and fundraisers but sometimes the worry about pulling an event off can be overwhelming.  The best way to learn?  Volunteer.

I started volunteering with different organisations and charities – this gives you the ultimate experience of fundraising, learning from people already successfully raising money.  Over the years I have met some amazing people doing amazing things and the whole journey has been so worthwhile.

216172850835039784_t6PuwuuV_cDo your research, find a good cause or local charity to help.  Drop them an email and offer your services.  Charities especially appreciate any offer of help, especially when you are prepared to give up your own time to help them.  The more passionate you are of the cause then the more you will get out of the experience, pick something close to your heart that you have an interest in.

For  me I was introduced to a local cancer charity.  This particular charity makes a great impact in my local area, and has even helped my family and friends through the hard times facing the devastating news of cancer.  From supplying fresh fruit in the wards to raising hundreds of thousands towards the latest technology in cancer treatment this charity means so much to me.

From small coffee mornings to weekend action packed events volunteering with this charity has exposed me to all types of fundraising as well as meeting life long friends.  This has given me the confidence to organise and succeed in my own fundraising plans.

Raising funds always feels amazing, but you will never know the feeling of making a difference until you have given it a go!

What are you waiting for?  Make your 2015 goals count.

It’s been a while take 2!

So almost a year to date I am writing an almost identical post where I promise to blog more, blame my job for the lack of blogging and generally been very very bad at sending any updates!

2015 is beginning to look like my year!  In the space of the first couple of weeks I have been promoted at work, started my health drive, planning home renovations and made a pinky promise with my Mac that it gets some attention this year…..

The theme of my blog is changing, aiming for lifestyle blog rather than specifically me on my weight loss plan.  I want to vary my posts, share my passions and discuss the things that crop up along the way, from landing my first big project as a fully fledged Project Manager to organising ANCHOR Wipeout for the 3rd year running.

Hows everyone’s New Year looking?  Here’s to a great 2015 (and lots of blogging!!)
